Frequently Asked Questions

What do I wear?  Will I be draped the entire time?

You may undress to your comfortability.  You will be draped appropriately the entire time, so exhale and smile knowing you are safe in our hands.  As you will see on our intake form, we can work around any parts of the body you want avoided. Your comfort and safety is our priority.

Why don’t you accept tips?

We’ve kept it simple with a price that we feel fairly compensates us for the caring and skilled touch our clients receive.

What exactly is the Pediatric Presence massage?

Claire, our founder, is a mama of four who always wished there was a service that offered skilled, safe, and healing touch for her children (who all love to get massages) without spending the week’s grocery budget. Surely, she thought, she wasn’t alone. We love listening to children talk about their needs, their bodies, and the things that make them feel safe and good. Each massage requires a parent’s written consent and presence in the massage studio.

How much time will I actually get on the table?  I’ve had massages where the therapist spends the first fifteen minutes just talking to me.

That’s called an intake, and while we do perform quick intakes before each session to make sure nothing has changed in regards to your medical history, we make sure to leave enough room between clients so the intake doesn’t cut into your massage time. Your first session may require a little bit more time so please arrive on time; we’ll need a comprehensive understanding of the reason for your visit, past injuries, etc.  And, if you have an extensive medical history give us a heads up so we can schedule a little more time to make sure your needs are met.

What is your cancellation policy?

Please cancel or reschedule your massage within 24 hours of your appointment. You will be responsible for the full amount of your missed appointment if you fail to cancel before the 24-hour window. Of course, if there is an emergency, inclement weather, or you are sick & feverish–we understand.
